This flashy filly is out of a full sister to Sweet Idea and Evening Slippers. Her older full brother sold to Richard Litt for 45k and her younger full sister has sold as a weanling for 25k. I acquired her through my contacts with Peter Gray, who is the minimum bidder at the Magic Millions Sales. Peter had many yearlings knocked down to him at this year’s National Sale, and I more or less got first pick of them. Some had bent legs, others poor x-rays, some just not well presented and most were immature. This filly was the standout. I cannot work out why she went for the minimum bid. I was delighted to take her home. I mouthed her and did 2 months of groundwork before breaking her in. She has since had a short prep and a break and is ready to go back in work again. I am very excited about her. Obviously I haven’t galloped her yet as I do not put my young horses under pressure, but all going well I hope to take her to the races in the new year. I was going to keep her all to myself however I am now persuaded that she will be an excellent horse to get great owners in that are keen to invest in my model of selecting the best of what ‘falls through the cracks’ at the sales and ends up at Peter Gray’s.
